Saigo no Sangatsu, or Our Last March, refers to March being the last month of the school year in Japan. And all eight stories, of about 20 pages each, are about first love, or close to it.
While the title story, which comes last, represents a somewhat violent climax, most of the this manga represents the softer side of teenage sex fantasy, with a predominance of night scenes, with boys pacing around for nocturnal tie-ups, often with some tenderness and always with sweet’n’sticky finales.
One of this manga’s strongest points is the actual drawing by the author, Gou Tsukumo. Somewhat unusual for gay manga is the amount of shading used in the drawings and the general lightness of touch - a refreshing change from the hard outlines that tend to characterize the more macho genres.
