The Orix Buffaloes are a Japanese professional baseball team and a member of the Professional Baseball Pacific League. The team's home base is Kyocera Dome Osaka (formerly Osaka Dome) in Higashisumiyoshi Ward, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture. The Orix Buffaloes were originally founded in 1947 under the team name Hankyu Braves, but changed to their current name in 2004. LA Dodgers' pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto previously played for Orix Buffaloes.
